Biomedical & Bioinformatics
Individuals, Companies or Organizations will act as Research Sponsors. Research Sponsor will provide the necessary funding, hardware, software to carry out The Research. Research Sponsor will propose a well define, time bound Research Project that The Scholars will take on.
The Research centers will be a collaboration between an Accredited (HEC Recognized) Institute/University –AND- Koshish Foundation. The center will be physically located at University/Institute campus, inside or in close proximity to the related department(s), It will be equipped with computers, laser printer(s), high-speed internet connectivity, and necessary software/hardware needed for research. A comfortable and enabling environment will be created at the center - e.g. flexible work hours. The center will provide IEEE / ACM membership to access research publications.
The Scholars will be able to get involved in research work while pursuing or after completing their BE/MS/PhD degrees. Scholars working on a Research Project will get appropriate monthly stipend. Each Research Project will have a Technical Mentor – a well qualified and experience person from Academia or Industry. The Mentor will provide need-based guidance to The Scholars.

Disease Database and Management:
Work with major hospitals to track and store disease information. Would be useful in identifying the demographics and temporal information regarding sicknesses and thus providing targeted disease management. Work would start first with the more prevalent diseases.
Dissemination of medical knowledge:
Development of low cost protocols for dissemination of current medical knowledge to doctors, patients and population in large.
Develop datamining and statistical models and tools to find and characterize genes of major functions for different crop varieties.
Bioinformatic Databases Integration:
One of the major problems of current bioinformatics databases is that the data is scattered around in heterogeneous data sources. Tools and interfaces are needed to closes these gaps and provide easier access to the data.
